MEET MISSY LIVENGOOD

Estate sales have always been about more than selling things to me. They’re about people, memories, and helping families through times of change with care and respect.

Before entering the estate sale field, I spent more than 25 years in ophthalmology, serving people of all ages with their eye-care needs. My final role in the medical field was at the Veterans Hospital in Indianapolis. I eventually stepped away from that career to care for my elderly father, an experience that deepened my understanding of how meaningful compassion, patience, and support can be during major life transitions.

I started my estate sale business in Indianapolis in 2022 and quickly discovered how much I loved helping families turn overwhelming transitions into something a little easier. Every home, every family, and every story is different, and I’ve learned that the most important part of this work is treating each one with patience, honesty, and genuine care.

I’ve always had a servant’s heart and a desire to help where needed. From a young age, I learned the beauty of tradition and preserving history through items from my own family. I’ve found that same connection to memories and family history in many of the people I help as they face the difficult task of clearing a loved one’s home or downsizing their own.

After spending a year in Florida, I’m happy to be back in Indianapolis and returning to the work I love with a fresh vision and an exciting new chapter: Starlight Estate Sales.

Starlight was created with the belief that letting go doesn’t have to mean letting go of the memories. My goal is to make the estate sale process as organized, successful, and stress-free as possible while treating each home and its belongings with the respect they deserve. I also take pride in thorough communication and in helping families feel informed and comforted throughout the process.

I’m excited to bring my experience, compassion, and passion for this work to families throughout the Indianapolis community.
